Angela Parks is a lifelong Yadkin County resident.
She was raised in Jonesville and attended elementary school there before graduating from Starmount High School.
She graduated from Forsyth Tech in the nursing program then worked for Hoots Memorial Hospital. She moved to Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, and in 2002 joined her current employer Novant Health in Winston-Salem.
Currently she works as a risk manager for Novant.
Parks is married to Yadkinville Police Chief Tim Parks, and the two are preparing to celebrate 24 years of marriage this November. They have one son named Weston.
Parks spends her free time coaching in Yadkin County. She has coached rec league softball, basketball, and currently helps with the Forbush High School varsity girl’s basketball team and keeps score.
“I played three sports in high school, and I just love athletics,” Parks told The Ripple as to why she coaches. She has also served as a Board of Education member in Yadkin County.
Civic pride is a major part of Parks’ life. She is a member of the Yadkin Civitan Club and works to help the organization with its mission of helping the community and the adult handicapped in the area.
In October 2012 Parks was awarded a special plaque recognizing her for two years of service by the club.
Of all her accomplishments, one stands above the rest to Angela.
“My biggest passion right now is my church and working with the teens and the youth program,” Parks said.
She and her family attend Northwood Baptist Church in Yadkinville, where Parks is especially involved. She teaches Sunday School and works with the youth program.
Through Northwood’s college campus outreach she recently completed her three-year graduate degree in theology.

“I love people,” Parks said. “I love giving back to the community and being involved.”
