Dear Editor,

The N.C. Department of Transportation has been around the county digging drainage ditches and a couple of weeks ago they were on our road out in Creston off of the Big Laurel.

I would like to commend the workers on that particular team - they performed with excellence and they were kind and considerate. Also, for the first time in the 25 years we have lived in Ashe County, our state-maintained road actually looks like a road rather than a dusty, pot-holed, mess.

Thank you DOT Team that did that - you are the best of the best of the DOT and the homeowners on this road APPRECIATE you.

Susan and Lowell Shipe
