Roby Edward Adams, 77, of Johnson Ridge Road, Elkin, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Elkin Healthcare. He was born March 14, 1935 in Wilkes County to Alexander Eck and Nannie Evelyn Wyatt Adams. He was a US Navy veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Herman “Bill” Adams.


Survivors include: two daughters, Teresa Taylor of Myrtle Beach, SC, Tammy Snow of Elkin; three sons, Edward Adams, Jr., Jeffrey Adams, Terry Adams all of Elkin; six sisters, Nancy Prevette of Sparta, Geneva Lyon, JoAnn Carter, Judy Baldwin all of Elkin, Nellie Gentry and husband Jackie of Boonville, Zura “Marie” Hamby and husband Charles of Millers Creek; three brothers, Colin Adams and wife Lilly of Elkin, Benny Adams and wife Nancy of Traphill; several grandchildren.


Graveside services will be 11:00 Friday at Double Creek Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Prevette officiating.


The family has requested no food. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Double Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Allen Holbrook, 5298 Absher Road, Hays, NC 28635.
