-Spring is coming and activities are blooming at the Boonville Community Public Library. Preschool Story Time continues on Thursday mornings at 10:30 for ages 2-5 with songs, crafts and finger plays complementing the stories read.


-A new class on Cooking, Nutrition, and Fitness for all ages will begin on Tuesday, March 3 at 10 a.m. at the library taught by Phillip Cox. Participate on how learn how to cook for 1 or 2 people in a healthy environment. Wear comfortable clothes and be ready to participate in a light workout. This class will last an hour and will continue through March.


-Yadkin County native Joe Brown will be at the library on Saturday, March 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to talk about his books and sign copies for interested patrons. Come by and meet Mr. Brown and enjoy his interesting series of books.


-Northwestern Regional Library is sponsoring a raffle to purchase e-books and other print books for local libraries. Tickets are available for $1 each, or six for $5. The raffle is for a queen size batik fabric quilt. Come by to purchase your tickets and see a photo of the quilt.


-Free access to Ancestry.com continues onsite at local libraries in the Northwestern Regional System through December, 2013. Come by to research your family background and be amazed at what you can discover!


-T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meetings continue at the Library on Thursday nights from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Come join this group to get ready for fun in the approaching spring and summer months.


-The Boonville Community Public Library is participating with the Boonville Woman’s Club in sponsoring a spring basket raffle. Tickets for this raffle are $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00. Proceeds from this raffle will benefit Starmount High School Art Students. The Woman’s Club meets in the library on the first Monday night of each month except for June through August.


The Boonville Community Public Library is a member of the Northwestern Regional Library system made up of 13 libraries bordering Alleghany, Surry, Stokes and Yadkin County.
