Ashe picked up back-to-back road wins earlier this week, first beating Starmount on Monday, then taking down East Wilkes on Tuesday.


Ashe 54, Starmount 49


The week started on Monday with a five-point win at Starmount.


Paige Spell poured in 14 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and collected six steals to lead the Lady Huskies to the victory. Fellow sophomore Morgan Hudler had 10 points and two rebounds and senior Chelsea Reavis had 10 points and a team-high five assists.


Junior Emily Flanagan added nine points and five rebounds, Hallie Brown scored six points and dished out three assists, and Abby Lopp scored two points and pulled down three rebounds.


Heaven Walters led all scorers with 25 points in the loss.


Ashe 48, East Wilkes 39


Ashe claimed its second win of the season over East Wilkes. The Lady Huskies held a 21-17 halftime advantage and continued to build on that in the second half.


Hudler had a great game from the point guard spot with 18 points, six rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals. Reavis finished with 11 points, Spell had four points, six rebounds and six steals, and Ashton Lee had four points and two rebounds.


Flanagan scored four points and led all Lady Huskies with 11 rebounds. Brown chipped in two points and grabbed four rebounds and Victoria Reed rounded out the Ashe scoring with two points.


East Wilkes got 15 points from leading scorer Erin Royal. Ashley Hayes scored eight points, Shanisha White scored five and McKenzie Stokes added five points.


Ashe now sits at 10-9 overall and 8-4 in the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference.


The Lady Huskies will look for its fourth straight win this Friday at home against Alleghany.
