Ashe picked up one win in junior varsity basketball action against Forbush on Tuesday.


Corbin Winebarger’s 18 points helped the JV boys capture a 55-47 victory.


Starting point guard Connor Bowers scored 10 points and handed out 11 assists. Bradley Lucas added nine points, Maison McNeill had six, Gavin Woodie added four, Kendall Richardson had four, Stanton Moore scored two and Parker Shelton added two.


Carson Fulp led Forbush with 14 points while Carson Matthews chipped in nine.


The JV Huskies are now 11-5 overall and 7-2 in the Mountain Valley Athletic Conference. Ashe will travel to Starmount to face the Rams on Friday.


In girls’ action, Forbush came out on top with a 37-20 victory.


Ashe’s leading scorer was Alexis Parks with 12 points. Brooke Hogg scored three, Aspen Greer added two, Hannah Andrews scored two and Tyler Eller rounded out the scoring with a free throw.


The Lady Huskies are now 8-7 overall and 5-3 in the MVAC. The team will be off Friday night since Starmount does not have a JV girls’ team. The team will return to the court on Tuesday at East Wilkes.
