Linda Carlton Gilliam, age 69 of Elkin passed away on Saturday, January 05, 2013 at Heritage Healthcare of Elkin. Mrs. Gilliam was born in Surry County on April 14, 1943 to the late James and Helen Couch Carlton.


In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wayne Gilliam.


Mrs. Gilliam is survived by her loving children, Beth Gilliam of Elkin, Donald Wayne Gilliam Jr. & wife Geri of State Road, Gene Gilliam & wife Sunshine of State Road, Heather Smith & husband Randy of State Road; sisters, Siyble Shephard of Ohio, Carrol Ellis of Mocksville; grandchildren, Dustin Price & wife Toni , Garret Price & Kelli Miller, Tre Gilliam, Brandon Gilliam, Corey Gilliam, Miranda Gilliam, Daniel Smith, Alex Gilliam, Noah Gilliam, Aimee Gilliam, Emma Smith, Georgia Gilliam; four great-grandsons; and several loving nieces and nephews.


A Memorial Service will be held 7:00p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Danny Dodds officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00p.m. prior to the service.


Flowers will be accepted or memorial may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Youth Mission Trips or Diabetes Research.
