Harry Byrd Kemp, age 83, of Woodlawn, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at his home. He was born December 17, 1929 to the late Betty and Aid Kemp. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Frost Kemp; sister, Winifred; five brothers, Clarence, Ray, Warren, Charlie and Willis. Survivors include one daughter, Rita Wanzer; two sons, Benjamin Lee Kemp and Harry (Lane) Kemp and wife, Donna (Sue); one sister, Mande Lee Scott of Mt. Airy, NC. A Memorial Service will be held at Twin County Funerals Sanctuary Saturday, December 29, 2012 beginning at 2pm. Jasper Rowland will officiate. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Bowen Cemetery. Flowers appreciated or donations can be made to Joy Ranch Home for Children, PO Box 727 Hillsville, VA 24343. Twin County Funerals is serving the Kemp family.
