Mr. Wyman Lee Cothren, age 63 of Thurmond, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Heritage Healthcare of Elkin. Mr. Cothren was born January 16, 1949 in Surry County to Bonson & Callie Burchette Cothren. Mr. Cothren was a member of the VFW Post at Mountain Park.


In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Ira Grant Cothren.


Survivors include: his wife, Joyce Cothren of the home; sons, Curtis Cothren and his wife Teresa of Thurmond and Brian Cothren and wife Sabrina of State Road; brothers, Gray Cothren and wife Mary of Elkin and Eldon Cothren of Wilkesboro; granddaughter, Katie Cothren.


Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Mickey Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at White Rock Cemetery with military honors provided by Mt. Airy VFW Post 2019. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
