Bobby Joe Vanhoy, 77, passed away Sunday October 21, 2012 at Woltz Hospice Home.


Mr. Vanhoy was born May 21, 1935 in Yadkin County to the late William Marvin & Bert Colbert Vanhoy. Mr. Vanhoy was retired from Chatham Manufacturing Company.


He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Timothy Vanhoy, two sisters and five brothers. Surviving is his wife of 58 years Mary Sue Vanhoy, children Ronnie (Betsy) Vanhoy, Barbara (Chris) Mathis; three grandchildren Adam (Erica) Mathis, Angela Mathis (Fiancée Jamie), Bradley (Lisa) Vanhoy; great-grandchild Addison Vanhoy.


The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Friday October 26, 2012 at Gentry family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Friday following the visitation in the Chapel by Rev. Justin Duncan. Burial will follow at Island Ford Baptist Church.


he family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff at Woltz Hospice Home and the 3rd floor nursing staff at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital for the loving care given to Mr. Vanhoy.
