June Morrison Knight


June Morrison Knight of Eller Dale Acres. Lansing, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 at her home. She was 76.


She was born Oct. 17, 1935 in Iredell County to Fred P. And Letha Stewart Morrison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, George Leister Knight.


She was a member and was very involved her in her church, The Parish of the Holy Communion “Churches of the Frescoes”. She attended Erskine Seminary in Due West, S.C., PCE in Richmond, Va., UNC in Charlotte. She was an artist, loved to read, and loved wild flowers and animals. She was a Nature Conservancy Member - Blue Ridge Chapter and a member of the Ashe County Garden Club.


Survivors include her husband, George L. Knight of the home; one daughter, Nancy J. Knight of the home; one brother, Payton Morrison of Statesville.


Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Glendale Springs with the Rev. Steve Miller officiating.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Parish of the Holy Communion “Churches of the Frescoes”, PO Box 177, Glendale Springs, NC 28629, BROC, Inc., 169 Warrensville School Rd., Warrensville, NC 28693 or to Ashe County Humane Society, 1175 Old Hwy 16, Jefferson, NC 28640.
