Saturday’s second-annual Reevestock was a success by all accounts.

Music rang out from Elkin’s hidden amphitheater from noon until 11 p.m., bringing out a crowd estimated to be twice as large as last year’s.

“It’s hard to come up with an accurate count on a Sunday morning, but early numbers show more than 750 in attendance and we [The Reeves Theater Restoration Project], through the efforts of Reevestock, raised just under $8,000.00” said treasurer of the Reeves Restoration Board Laurette Leagon.

The crowds were consistent throughout the day, said Sam Tayloe of the band Time Sawyer.

“I was really pleased with the turn out. For a whole day festival, we kept a pretty good crowd all day long, and the crowd just grew throughout the day,” Tayloe said. “We definitely raised a really great amount of money.”

Plans are already in order for a next year’s Reevestock festival.

“The Dirty Guv’nahs and Mandolin Orange both said they would love to do it again,” Tayloe said. “It was a great experience for everyone.”
