•3 p.m.-“Justice Richmond Pearson and the Trials of Tom Dooley” will be presented by Wilkesboro Attorney Greg Luck and the Yadkin County Historical Society at historic Richmond Hill, 4641 Law School Road, East Bend. Following the presentation, the Yadkin County Historical Society will sponsor its Annual Picnic in the first covered shelter on the left. It will be covered dish, with utensils and beverages furnished by the society. The program is free and open to the public. August 4 •8 a.m.-5 p.m.-“The Civil War in the Yadkin Valley” is the theme for the 2012 Yadkin Valley History and Genealogy Fair and Conference. It will be at the Iredell County Agricultural Resource Center, 444 Bristol Road, Statesville, NC 28677. The purpose of the event is to collect new, unpublished information on what our Yadkin Valley ancestors did during the Civil War in the fifteen counties of the Yadkin Valley. Pre-Registration is $15 and $20 at the door. It includes lunch, 2012 membership in the Yadkin Valley Historical Association, and an exhibit table, while they last.
