Pine Street accident claims one life

Emergency workers and law enforcement were still on the scene of a single-vehicle accident that claimed the life of one person and left two passengers pinned in the vehicle shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday.While all details were not available, officials say the accident occurred shortly after noon in the 3500 block of East Pine Street.“It appears the vehicle lost control, crossed the center line on the left side of the highway, over-corrected, ran off the right side of the highway and overturned,” said North Carolina Highway Patrol Officer Terry Bullington, who noted that multiple officers were still investigating the accident.The crash involved a Chevrolet Trailblazer with three occupants, Bullington said.
